What are my options when I get into a game?

APlayer Placard - This area tells you the screen name of the player as well as how many play chips he/she has left. When it is that player's turn to act (bet, check or fold), he/she has 30 seconds to make a decision. A small multi-colored bar appears below the player's name and gradually gets shorter until the 30 seconds have expired or the player has acted. Double-clicking a Player Placard will bring up a notes window that will allow you to take (and keep) notes about the other players on the table.

BCenter table - This is where the size of the pot is listed (in the image above, the pot is 16). In addition, the community cards and dealer messages are displayed here as well.

CExit room - The 'Leave Table' button will let you get up from (and leave) the table. Your seat will become available for someone else to sit in. 'View Lobby' will bring up the lobby screen which is where you can look for different games to play in. You can view the lobby without leaving your seat at the table where you are currently playing.

DChat/Statistics - This area defaults to the CHAT position. This allows you to chat with other players at the table, as well as see a play-by-play account of what is happening at the table. In order to chat with other players, you need to type in the text entry area. You can filter the type of chat that is displayed in this area by clicking the dealer or player buttons next to the 'Statistics' tab. 'Dealer On' shows all dealer chat; 'Dealer Detail' shows dealer summary information; 'Dealer Off' turns off dealer chat; 'Player On' shows all player chat; 'Player On' shows all player chat. The STATISTICS tab allows you to see historical statistics about your past play at the table.

EBetting Options - In this area, you have the option to create an action (bet, check, fold) before it is your turn, by checking the appropriate box. The boxes are:

Fold/Check - When checked, this will automatically check for you if nobody has bet. If a bet has been made prior to your turn, your hand will be automatically folded.

Fold - When checked, this will automatically fold your hand when it becomes your turn to act.

Check - When checked, this will automatically check your hand provided no bets have been made prior to it becoming your turn to act. If a bet has been made, this box will immediately uncheck itself and wait for you to act (bet, check, fold).

Call/Check any - When checked, this will automatically check your hand provided no bets have been made prior to it becoming your turn to act. If a bet has been made, it will automatically be called, regardless of the amount.

Bet (amount) - This box will have a bet amount associated with it. In the image above, it is $2.00. When checked, this will automatically bet the predetermined amount provided no bets have been made prior to it becoming your turn to act. If a bet has been made, this box will immediately uncheck itself and wait for you to act (bet, check, fold).

Bet/Raise any - When checked, this will automatically bet (or raise) for you when it is your turn to bet. If someone has bet before you, you will automatically raise the exact amount of the previous bet (in this round of betting). If nobody has bet before it is your turn to act, you will automatically bet the amount of the big blind.

FAuto Post - When checked, this will automatically place your blind bet when it is your turn to do so. This option is only available in the Poker Rooms and is not available in either the Multi-table or Sit & Go Tournaments.

Auto Muck - When checked, this will automatically discard your cards (if you lose) at the end of the hand, face down, so that no other players at the table will know what your cards were. In addition, if you win the hand because all of the other players fold, this will also automatically discard your cards face down.

Sit Out - When checked, this will save your seat at the table, but will not deal any cards to you for the next hand. You will need to uncheck it when you wish to begin playing again.

How do I make a bet?

Opponent's Bet - The window at your opponent's seat will change to 'Bet' (and an image of the number of chips that he/she wagered will display in front of your opponent) when he/she makes a bet. In the image above, a bet of $16.00 was made. In addition, the dealer will announce the bet in the chat window if chat options are set to 'Dealer Detail' or 'Dealer On'.

Dealer's Button - Although you personally never need to deal the cards, the deal is passed around the table (counter clockwise) so that each person gets to be in the dealer's position. Since the betting starts with the person to the left of the dealer (and continues around the table to the left), the person with the dealer's button is the last person to act. This is considered a favorable position.

Fold/Call/Raise - When it is your turn to act, you have two sets of options.

If someone has already bet, you can fold (throw away your cards and sit out the rest of the hand), call (match the bet that has already been made) or raise (match the bet that has already been made and add an additional bet to 'raise' the bet).

If nobody has bet, you can fold (throw away your cards and sit out the rest of the hand - this is not advisable if nobody has bet), check (pass your turn for that round - you are neither betting nor folding) or bet (place an amount of chips into the pot).

These buttons will be available in this spot depending on what has happened up to this point. In the image above, a bet has been made - so the options are fold, call or raise. Click the button indicating which option you would rather do.

Betting different amounts - If you wish to bet or raise different amounts from the options in shown above, you can do it here. You can either type the amount you want into the box (in the image, the box has 32.00 in it) or you can slide the bar directly below the box as far to the right as you want. The bet amount in the box will change as you slide the bar indicating the amount of the bet or raise. After you have chosen the amount you wish, click the 'Bet' button to complete your act.
